Providing digital and green competences for textile and furniture sectors
Due to the necessity to update and align Vocational Education Training (VET) offer to the industry needs to facilitate a twin digital and green transition of manufacturing and traditional sectors, the main aim of the TwinRevolution project is to develop an innovative and interactive tool & a training course that will up- and re-skill VET learners (from upper secondary and current workers) providing them with the necessary digital and green skills and competences.
Digital technologies have the potential to cut global emissions and advance towards the EU Green Deal goals.
For example, distributed ledger technology can be used in material tracing, aiding the circular economy by better maintenance and recycling.
The green transition is an opportunity to put Europe on a new path of a sustainable and inclusive growth.
In addition to tackling climate change, it will help reduce energy bills and dependence on fossil fuel imports.
A fair digital transformation has the potential to increase the innovation and productivity of the EU economy,
The digital transition will also contribute to the green objectives, with synergies in many areas of a smart circular economy.
Digital technologies are considered a driving force of the Circular Economy transition
They have capacity to enable information to travel with a product, a critical aspect to maintain the value of a product for as long as possible.
TwinRevolution is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport. It runs for seven years, from 2021 to 2027, with organisations invited to apply for funding each year to undertake creative and worthwhile activities. Erasmus+ aims to modernise education, training and youth work across Europe
